║ GT-HELP ║ GTWELCOM.BBS - the 'first' screen displayed
╚═════════╩════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════
The GTWELCOM.BBS is the first screen that callers are guaranteed to
see. It appears after they answer the ANSI question but before asking
the callers name and password.
An ANSI version of the file may be created as GTWELCOM.CBS - see below.
Page codes (see pagecode.hlp in another edit window) and substitutions
(see below) can be included in this file.

│ Suggestions │
└─────────────┘
The content of the GTWELCOM.?BS file is completely up to you. Typically
sysops tend to include :
The GT version
The board name
The sysop's name
For the benefit of overseas users, it is suggested you also include a
line to show the local time and date. For example :
"The time in London is approx "T" on "D
Most of the other substitutions described in pagecodes.hlp
are not appropriate in this screen, since the caller has not
yet logged on.

You can also create a GTWELCOM.CBS file, using an ANSI editor.
If that exists, it will be shown instead of the .BBS version to callers
that choose the ANSI option.
The .CBS version can contain colour and cursor positioning commands,
the latter allowing animation effects. You can often add the ANSI
sequences within your editor, but a specialist ANSI editor (such as
THEDRAW) will make things easier.
